Catholic Forms of Birth Control

Contrary to popular belief, true believing Catholic couples do use some forms of birth control.  While believing Catholics are not supposed to use chemical forms of birth control, there are natural forms of birth control that are used by catholics.

NFP – Natural Family Planning is a system of measuring a woman’s body’s temperature  to figure out just when she ovulates.  The couple then abstains from sexual relations during this time.

The barrier method – While the Catholic Church teaches that there are several barrier methods are wrong there are a few barrier methods that are approved.

Here the child acts as a barrier so the parents don’t have time, nor do they have energy to have sex.

Coitus interruptus – There are various forms of this method.

Method 1 – The Toddler that is sleeping down the hall wakes up.  The universe has some sort of perverse sense of humor since it is almost always true that a toddler will wake up and go to their parents room when sex is about to or has just begun.

Method 2 – The door is locked, and you and your spouse are alone, the kids are downstairs watching some sort of movie that they are totally engrossed in.  Chances are, at the moment of contact the following will happen:

Method 3 - Nursing.  This method is used by a subset of Catholic couples.  It is sort of related to Method 1 above, but as it happens, when the circumstances get interesting for the couple.  The nursing toddler or the nursing baby will wake up.

So, there you have it, your introduction to the diverse world of Catholic Birth Control.  Final note, this post is supposed to be a humorous look into parenting and parental relations.  It is NOT intended to be take seriously.

Sad…

Published by John Gibson under Prolife

It is tragedy that we have allowed the killing of the unborn in the womb for 37 years.  As a Prolifer, I am completely Prolife.  This extends to the death penalty.

I cannot excuse Scott Roeder’s actions.  He took a man’s life.  He justifies this because the man is an abortion doctor.

To me this just unfathomable.  How can someone who is Prolife, take a person’s life.

Immaculate Misconception

Published by John Gibson under Catholicism, Prolife, Religion

Here are a list of “Catholic” Senators who voted to allow abortion funding on the feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Senators

Menendez (D-NJ)

Gillibrand (D-NY)

Reed (D-RI)

Leahy (D-VT)

Murray (D-WA)

Cantwell (D-WA)

Landrieu (D-LA)

Collins (R-ME)

Mikulski (D-MD)

Kerry (D-MA)

Kirk (D-MA)

McCaskill (D-MO)

Begich (D-AK)

Dodd (D-CN)

Durbin (D-IL)

Harkin (D-IA).

We are talking about irony here.  On the feast that Catholic celebrate the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that these so called Catholics would vote to allow the murder of children in the womb is abhorrent.

A country that will not protect the least of its members, is a society that will turn on others.  The democrats will talk about how Government run health care will not have death panels i.e. groups of administrators that have the choice of life and death over people, but I suggest that there will be such things.  If you do not see the inherent worth of a child in the womb, you will not see the inherent worth of anyone.

There is a lot of talk about compassion, yet when you truly dig deep into the abortion issue, and get away from the rhetoric, you will see that there is an abortion industry who’s income is derived from the killing of babies in the womb, and a reactionary group of prolife advocates who seek to turn women’s hearts away from that choice, because that choice is not good for them nor their child.  The difference between the groups is after the killing has been done, there is one group that is always there to pick up the pieces, and those who do wish that they didn’t have to do it.

Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal one, have mercy on us.

The choice that must not be named

Published by John Gibson under Prolife

Who speaks for these women?  Who, when they condemn violence, talks about these violent acts?  Many times, the choice for an abortion is not made by the woman having it, but by the boyfriend, husband, or parents.

But sometimes woman and/or girls will choose not to abort, and then something dark and sinister can happen.

New York physician Stephen Pack was sentenced to prison after repeatedly stabbing his girlfriend with a syringe filled with an abortion-inducing drug. A witness said that Pack shouted, “I’m giving you an abortion!” as he forced the woman to the ground near a hospital parking garage. She later gave birth to a healthy boy.

A pregnant Arkansas woman was within days of her due date when she was beaten and kicked in the abdomen by three men, killing her unborn baby girl. She said she pleaded for her child’s life as her attackers told her: The woman’s boyfriend, Eric Bullock, was convicted of planning the attack.

Andrew Jerome Gaither pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault for beating up his girlfriend outside an abortion clinic in Washington, DC. Witnesses said that Gaither beat the woman after she refused to enter the clinic after speaking with pro-life advocates outside. She later gave birth to a healthy baby.

These are just a small part number of unheard, and unwanted voices about pro-abortion violence.  Lets face it, Abortion allows men simply walk away from their responsibility.  Have consensual sex with an underage girl, take her to a clinic.  Don’t want to pay for another child, take your wife to a clinic.  Since the clinics tend to make VERY good money with the termination of a child in the womb, they really don’t have any reason to report child rapists, or coercions by husbands to the Authority.

Wanna read more?  There are more than 20 pages of examples in this one report here:

http://www.theunchoice.com/pdf/FactSheets/ForcedAbortions.pdf

The pro-abortion advocates are great about talking up the “millions” of women who would die in back alley abortions or the “100,000*” lives lost because of illegal abortion; these same advocates who are so concerned about the lives of women who seek abortions are silent on those lives snuffed out in the name of “Choice.”

We are facilitating the killing of the unborn to the tune of a million plus per year.  Now that abortion is so deeply ingrained into our cultural ethos, that the small step to killing the elderly is already already in place.  While you may think the Dr. Kevorkian was a nut job, the problem is that he was but a tip of the iceberg.  Once you devalue life, all life becomes devalued.

Ok… This troubles me…

Published by John Gibson under Politics, Prolife

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.

So we have a liberal justice saying that Roe was really to reduce the populations that we don’t want to have too many of…  Ok… So what is that population?

This sounds down right racist to me.

“We don’t want to many of THEM people around….”

What really troubles me is the eugenic mindset that is inherently ingrained in those who enthusiastically support abortion.  But there is a larger eugenic mindset in the American Culture today that says “All Children must be perfect.”

I remember when my wife and I were expecting our first child.  We were told there was a chance of down’s syndrome.  WE struggled with that, but at no time did we consider abortion to be a option, what we struggled with was the possibility of having to raise a child who was developmentally disabled.

I truly pray that one day we embrace the idea that children are a gift, rather than a by product of sex.
