Senate Democrats… You deliver babies for free then its an ethics violation

Published by John Gibson under Uncategorized

Yep… can’t make this up.  Deliver children for free and don’t charge the parents, this means you have no ethics (if you happen to be a Senator who is a doctor) and the Senate Democrats will drag you onto the carpet for such an action.

Get more details here:  http://www.jillstanek.com/archives/2008/07/senator_under_a.html

Pathetic… The Culture of Death really is full of low life people who talk about helping but then go after someone who actualy helps.

BTW… don’t get me started on the (*&*&^* republicrats.  In my opinion the Republican party has whored itself out as basely as the democans.  Both parties do not care what happens to the average citizen.

But this stuff has got to stop.

Something Terrible is still happening today

Published by John Gibson under Catholicism

Looks like Cardnial George will have to pull out the theologians, priests, and laity and have some sort of group meeting and issue some type of report. Looks like his Seminary in Mundaline has problems with upper classmen asking for homosexual favors from the country boys from Rockford.

Well Rockford says it isn’t going to play that game. Dornan has decided to move his seminarians out of Chicago Seminary and take them elsewhere. Good for him… I have always thought that he was a good decent bishop (one of the few in my opinion.)

I also had hope in Cardinal George, but alas, like most of those who have been given the pointy hat here in the good ol’ US of A in the last few years they have seemed to not to stepped up to the plate and do their job.

No doubt there will be a press conference, George will say how sorry he is, and how he overlooked this and that it shouldn’t have happened. BLAH BLAH BLAH… At the end of the day there will be no changes simply because George has signaled that he is not willing to excrete enough testosterone to actually do the right thing when it comes to the problems that most of the Catholic Laity can see, and most of the Bishops choose NOT to see.

Yes… pay no attention to the Elephant in the Sacristy.  There is nothing to see here…. move along…

In 1968 Something Terrible Happened in the Church

Published by John Gibson under Catholicism

In an article written by Cardinal Francis Stafford, reflects on how dissenters to Humane Vitae tore the Church apart – and how rift left scars that remain to this day

Now I am going to agree with him.  That the dissent from Humana Vitae was terrible.  However we must realize that something more terrible happened before that.

No I am not talking about Vatican II, what I am talking about is the lapse in formation before the council with priests, deacons, and monastics.

Look, if you have lousy formation you are not going to have a solid foundation to build on when major changes happen.  Everyone wants to talk about how strong the Church was before Vatican II.  Please forgive me, it had an appearance of strength, but to say it was strong is simply mouthing BULLSHIT.

If the Church’s vocations were strong, knowledgeble about Church teaching, sure in their faith, and steeled Vatican II would have simply been the Vatican II council, and it would have not been followed by the mayhem that we saw.

The dissent from Humana Vitae is a symptom of a much larger issue that was under the surface of the Church.  Charles Curran was not a well trained or a well versed Catholic Theologian, because if he had, he would have come to a different conclusion than what he did in 1968 when the Pope issued the now famous Humana Vitae.

Don’t blame Humana Vitae for the Crisis in the Catholic Church, don’t blame Vatican II.  Because it wasn’t these two things that caused the mayhem.  They were the catalysts that brought forth the problems.

Going 400 miles on 12 bucks in Gas

Published by John Gibson under Uncategorized

So far, I have put 400 miles on the Honda… it it has cost me 12 bucks.  I just filled up my Hyundai Elantra and it cost me $50.42 for 350 miles.  So at this rate, I will pay off my scooter in:  49.5 fillups.  I should have that down to 48 in the next week or so…

I was at the dealership, and was looking into something a wee bit bigger so that I can actually hit the highway with it.  Rignt now I don’t think I will upgrade.  What I have is just fine right now.

Ok…. A Rant….

Published by John Gibson under Uncategorized

When you write a blog, or a webpage, don’t put a play list or embed music.  When I go to your site, and I hear it, I turn it off.  If you don’t allow me to easily turn it off.  I never go back.

WHY?  Because I have my own music that I listen to while I am surfing the net.  I have my own preferences of tunes, I have my own play lists.

I also have Children and if my sound is up because I am listening to something that is recorded low, and I hit your site and you start blasting… Oh…. Hells Bells by AC/DC it is going to wake the KID up and I am going to be a bit miffed at you.

While I am at it… Don’t embed midi files on your site, they usually sound like crap.

While I am ranting about midi files and websites, and Catholics… why is it that when you hit some Catholic sites some of the most insipid Marian Hymns have to blast forth.  Yes, I know, I love her dearly and she is the Mother of God, but people…. Give her music that is worthy of her dignity.

And please, not every piece of music that was produced before the Vatican II council was great, there were some things that were wonderful, and some of it was as bad as the Haugen Hass stuff that is played in most parishes today.

In short… Don’t force your musical tastes upon me simply because I want to read your site or blog…

Rant off….  thank you for reading… now back to our regularly scheduled program.
